Weekend finds…

What a great weekend!  Spent time in Memphis visiting family, got to catch up with an old friend, and go pilfering with my Dad.  Thought I’d share some pics of my finds.  Can’t wait to figure out what I’m going to do with them.

A really rustic and rusty cart for welding tanks - $20.

Lots of goodies…I was disappointed I didn’t find any pieces of furniture.  I’ve got some new colors of chalk paint that I’m just dying to try out!  Maybe next week…

This cool fan was $5 and the stool a super steal at $1!

The large trunk was a great find too!  I’m getting to be known as the trunk lady…won’t it make a great coffee table!  The inside is in really good condition too.  To paint or not to paint…

Hope you had a great weekend!  Thanks for checking out my blog.

Paper Wreath Project

Ok, so this project didn’t turn out as “pretty” as Simple Joys Paperie…but this WAS my first attempt and I wanted to emphasize that!  It was a little difficult at first get the proper roll shape with the pages, but once you get the hang of it, it went by pretty fast.  I followed Primp’s Vintage Sheet Music Wreath Tutorial.  I still want to add a medallion paper in the middle to cover the points, but wanted to show it off.
Please check out Simple Joys Paperie’s Etsy shop @ http://www.etsy.com/listing/66312530/royal-fleur-de-lis-crown-with-black
and Primp’s tutorial @ http://micheleravendesigns.blogspot.com/2010/09/vintage-sheet-music-wreath-by-primp.html

Sorry, I’m still new to blogging and this is the only way I know how to link so far…enjoy the pics.

I used an old, old book of poetry that was tattered and worn out.  I bought a wreath form at Michael's and used a glue gun to shape the pages & glue them to the form.

I’ll add a pic this weekend when i finish the middle part.  Thanks Primp for the tutorial and thanks to Simple Joys Paperie for the inspiration.

Happy Thursday!

Hi everyone!  I'm dreaming of snow right now...summer just came too fast and furious here in Nashville!  We're supposed to hit another record high of 95.  Whew!  Had to share this pic of my beautiful rescue Weimaraner Chloe (from Weimaraner Rescue of the South).  I've had her 9 months now - she's been so wonderful!

So much is going on this week I haven't had a chance to post anything.  Hopefully Sunday will return me to a normal routine...my typical crazy routine! :-)  Enjoy checking out all the great ideas people have shared at the links below.

Please check out the linking parties going on!!
