Burlap Rocker

This was my first attempt at upholstering a rocker that was originally pleather covered. I thought for $7.50, I’d give it a try.
 
After I picked off about a bazillion tacks and nails, I used a burlap coffee bean bag to recover it.


I had a sample of aqua paint (I already had) that just matched the color in the coffee bag, then I painted all the wood in Annie Sloan’s Old White Chalk Paint – of course, with supervision from my fur babies.
 
The below pic was after sanding, but before the waxes.  Now I’ve learned that you can sand AFTER you wax…much easier!

The final product – distressed and waxed!  Ready to sell!  I didn’t get the lines of the bags just right…but sold it anyway!  $95…yay!
 
I loved how the distress wood came out!  The burlap was challenging, but I think it turned out great for my first time!
